The U.S. Central Command has declared the beginning of military operations against Iran, according to announcements made on July 20, 2026.

The announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions and reports of multiple incidents across Iranian territory. Iranian state media has documented activity from air defense systems near the Bushehr nuclear power station, while witnesses reported eight explosions heard in the Bandar Abbas area in southern Iran. Additional reports indicate strikes in the Sirik region of Hormozgan Province to the east.

Meanwhile, military operations have also targeted locations in Lebanon, with Israeli artillery strikes reported against the village of al-Nab'a al-Fuqa. A separate strike was documented in the al-Masha'a neighborhood of al-Mansouri in Tyre district.

The escalating situation has prompted France to announce suspension of Air France flights to Dubai and Riyadh for security reasons, reflecting international concerns about the situation in the region.
